I became interested in holistic health approaches at a young age when I started a regular yoga practice. It was the increased awareness of my body and breath that I gained from yoga that led me in the direction of Shiatsu Therapy. After experiencing profound releases of physical and emotional tension with only a short series of shiatsu sessions, I knew that this was an art that I wanted to learn and share with others
I graduated with honors from the Shiatsu School of Canada (SSC) located in Toronto, Ontario. The SSC has the highest curriculum standards in Canada, mirroring the official Japanese diploma programs.
The SSC combines Eastern studies of shiatsu theory and TCM, with 650 hours of Western studies of anatomy, physiology, and pathology. Additionally, one is required to complete over 1000 hours of hands-on practical training.
I believe I have knowledge and experience to provide excellent care, and to refer clients to doctors or other professional therapists when their training is more applicable to your needs.
I am a member of The Shiatsu Therapy Society and hold the designation of Licensed Shiatsu Therapist (LST). Please speak to your insurance provider to determine if shiatsu may be covered by your current policy.
I am committed to continuing my professional development by attending workshops in auxiliary modalities to learn new hands-on tools and stay current on the latest information in the healing arts.
